Aprašymas

A show-and-tell style look at the legacy of Separation Sunday by the Hold Steady that is half obsessively researched fan project and half examination of the album's legacy, asking what it is about this album and this band that fosters obsessive fandom, what it means to co-create meaning, and how sing-along songs become our scripture.

For decades now, people have found community under the umbrella of the Hold Steady. This is a history of the Hold Steady and the creation of Separation Sunday that explores what it means to be a fan, and how passionate fan communities have formed around this band. But it's also a loving product of the authors' own fandom--an annotated guide that connects plot points, elucidating themes and self-referential humor, and explaining the dense web of references ranging from the Christian scriptures to Bones Brigade videos.
